Hi everyone! I read Parent Effectiveness Training and took a P.E.T. class in 2013, right before I became a young stepmom to two awesome kids. I knew I wasn't their biological parent – and that I was objectively lacking parenting skills – and I wanted to create a relationship with them that felt mutually respectful.
P.E.T. changed a lot in my life.
I circled back around to the program in 2022, when I was considering becoming a teacher. I read Teacher Effectiveness Training (which teaches the same skills as P.E.T., but for the teacher-student relationship) and thought, man, these skills are what I'd really like to share with others.
In 2025, I became a Certified Instructor with Gordon Training International, and these communication and conflict resolution skills benefit me every day.
